The Africa Music Business Summit ( A M B S), a key event of the 9th All Africa Music Awards AFRIMA which has gone beyond talent and creativity attracting investors, partner, major industries players and other stakeholders from across the world will on Thursday, January 8, 2026 hold at the Eko Convention Centre, Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos, Nigeria.
The Summit “theme” “Connect, Build, Own: Monetizing Africa’s Music Revolution” is expected to bring together artistes, music executive, investors, policymakers, and media professionals, who will converge in Lagos to discuss how Africa can grow, protect and profit from its expanding music industry.
A statement from Organisers of the Prestigious Awards said the theme of this year’s Summit reflects AFRIMA’s focus on creativity into long – term economic Value Discussions that will centre on ownership, infrastructure, media, financing and building a strong music value -chain across Africa.
According to the Organisers, the Summit will be hosted by award – winning International broadcaster and CNN African Voices Change makers host, Larry Madowo, with popular television host and actor Mojibade Sosanya Serving as Co – host.
Apart from hosting the event, Madowo will also serve as one of the moderators. As Experienced Professionals, including Landry Gnamha, from Cameroon and Victoria Nkong from Nigeria will moderate panel discussions.
The Keynote address will be delivered by Swedish Ambassador to Nigeria, MS Anna Wester holm.
Several respected voices in music, media, law and policy will speak at the summit. Thereafter, featuring various Sessions, where invited panelists will examine different topics, including: Building creative economy infrastructure for revenue, Recipe for Global Stardom, Global Media and Music will be used to examine the role of media at the sessions which affects Africa music space.
Speaking ahead of the summit, the President and Executive Producer of AFRIMA, Mike Dada said Africa Music Business Summit has become a critical platform for shaping the future of African music.
“African music is one of Continent’s strongest culture exports, today, but talent alone is not enough,” Dada said. “The Africa Music Business Summit is designed to assist African Creative and Industry Players understand Ownership, structure, and sustainability, so they can fully benefit from the value they create.”
The events which are lined – up for the 9th All Africa Music Awards include the followings: Welcome Soiree ( Jan. 7). The Africa Music Business Summit ( Jan. 8 ). Host City Tour and CSR Visit, the Music Village Concert ( Jan. 10 ), and Red Carpet and Grand Awards Night ( Jan 11) and will be broadcast live to more than 84 Countries in ensuring the excitement reaches audiences around the world.
