The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jammat of Nigeria ( AMJN ) and Christian Association of Nigeria – CAN, ILaro Chapter have called on Nigerians to promote unity, religious tolerance, love, harmony, and peaceful coexistence irrespective of religious and ethic affiliation for a stable and economic advancement of Nigeria.
The two religious organizations and other speakers made the calls at the 71st edition of “Ahmadiyya Jalsa Salana Nigeria 2025” held on Friday, 20th December, 2025 at their site in Ilaro, Yewa, Ogun State with a theme “Hold fast, all together by rope of Allah and be not divided”
Professor Saheed Timehin of the Lagos State University, Ojo, who delivered the Lecture of the day, titled “UNITY AMONG THE PEOPLE OF THE WORLD” said that if there must be peace and unity, nations must accept themselves as equal, who are made equal by Almighty Allah.
The Scholar disclosed that if Nigeria must achieve peace, unity and tranquility among its people, they must adopt Medina Model (Constitution) prescribed by the Holy Prophet Muhammad, when he got to Medina and became their leader, for a true unity, peace and solidarity among the people of Medina after he became their leader when he got there.
The Medina Model recognised and guarantee the rights, duties privileges,and safety of individuals. This includes: religious freedom and tolerance, rights to belong to any association of your choice, inclusivity, sustain unity and justice for a better society, as muslim, jews and others were recognised as one political community.
With this the holy prophet use the model to promote love and peace among the people, discourage the use of force on them, he also discourage fighting and brokered peace among the warring parties and urged them to be their brothers – keepers. He then advised Nigeria’s leaders in particular and Nigerians in general to copy and emulate the Holy Prophet in the formulation of this acceptable model.
He said that for the believers and non – believers unity is a strategic necessity, because in Islamic Religion diversity is divine in which Almighty Allah says in the Quran: “Oh mankind we created you “male and female” and made you into tribe and nation that you may know one another. And draw the analogy like a single body, when one part suffers the other will respond to what happens in the affected area.
Professor Timehin concluded that Muslims in Nigeria and across the World, especially the younger ones should use modern technology, diplomacy, dialogue to present Islamic religious and its narrative accurately to the world without any rancour.
In his own goodwill message, and later in an interview, former Nigerian Ambassador, His Excellency, Sharafadeen Ishola appreciated Ahmadiyya Muslim Jammat of Nigeria for their organizational ability to put together the event and the large turn out of all its members from far and near and the well coordinated seating arrangements, which shows orders and calmness among them.
He then Commended Ahmadiyya in entirety for their various people – centred programmes that the mission has embarked on including: Health, Education, NGOs. This positive contributions by Jammat has really assisted in the socio – economic and infrastructural development of not only the Yorubas but Nigeria as a whole.
The former Ambassador the siren atmosphere he saw at the event complex, how devotees submitted themselves in the worship of Almighty Allah, and tenet of Islam, he was deeply encouraged by this and assured the leadership and members of Ahmadiyya Jammat that you are “true representative of Islam”
He concluded that as a student of Islamic Religious himself, one unique which is paramount is the ” five pillars” whether you are Ahmadiyya, Ansar – ud – Deen, Nawar – ru – Deen, other religious bodies as brothers, we must come together and first unite as muslim, because it when we unite that we can relate well with ourselves and other religions and let’s continue to be good ambassador of Islam.
The Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria, Ilaro, Ogun State Chapter, Rt. Rev. Emmanuel Oludaisi Adekunle, who was represented at the Jalsa Salana Nigeria 2025, congratulated Ahmadiyya Muslim Jammat of Nigeria on the occasion of their 71st Conference celebration which he described as great and thanked them for inviting the body which he said should be emulate by other Islamic organisations.
This gesture the Ogun State CAN Chairman said will bring about cooperation, religious tolerance and harmony which will lead to peaceful co – existence among faiths in Nigeria.
He thanked Almighty Allah, the Olu of Ilaro for the privilege of hosting another Ahmadiyya Conference in Ilaro, Yewaland. And that we should respect authorities, especially those at the helms of affairs and subjected ourselves to higher power, Almighty God.
‘In conclusion: “To our nation Nigeria, we have to do our obligations and work together for us to achieve a greater heights for the country. CAN, he said are in the business of building bridges and not walls, therefore, all of us must as a matter of unity and love build the bridges together not walls, so that we can build a great nation and pray for peace and tranquility of our nation.
Distinguished Senator, Solomon Olamilekan, known as Yayi, who was also represented by Honourable Ajadi, thanked the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jammat of Nigeria for the invitation extended to him which he considered as special recognition of his personality and congratulated the organization for their 71st Conference celebrations held in Ilaro, Ogun State.
He advised Nigerians to continue to unite and live in peace and tolerate others and not engage in any acrimony that affect the tranquility of the country.
In his royal goodwill message, His Royal Highness, the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Chairman of Traditional Institutions in Yewaland, His Majesty, Oba Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle, who said that he has been attending the Ahmadiyya Conference: Jalsa Salana, congratulated the leadership and different committees for a well organized and befitting conference in Ilaro and thanked all those who attended this year’s event for their calmness and orderliness in the sitting arrangements.
The Royal father appealed to all Nigerians as a mark of patriotism to rally round and support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in his efforts in fighting insecurity, especially wars against terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and other form of insurgencies across the nation. He said collectively with cooperation with can defeat this scourge which has become endemic to the country.
Oba Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle sent a compassionate message and appeal to Distinguished Senator Solomon Olamilekan Yayi to assist the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jammat of Nigeria in constructing the five kilometres portion of a road that link and lead to the Conference Complex, which drew applause from all those present at this year’s edition.
Highlights of the 71st edition of Jalsa Salana Nigeria 2025, was the recognition, honouring of members, who excelled and performed outstanding and creditably in their education pursuits and graduated from various Nigeria’s Higher Institutions in different Social, Social Sciences and Professional Examinations and came out in flying colours.
This year’s edition of Jalsa Salana Nigeria have a total of 66 awardees, broken down to 40 males and 26 females coming under 8 Categories: The Professional Category, consist of two, – One male, One Female; In the Doctorates Category, four made up of two Male and two Females.
There are fourteen in the Masters Category, made up of 10 Males and 4 Females. Bachelor degree has a total of 27 consisting of 12 Males and 15 Females.
The HND has 2, One Male and One Female. In the Professional Courses, 8 Males and 3 Females bringing the total to 11. In the Secondary Category made up of two, One male and One Female.
This year’s edition also featured guided tour of exhibition stands. Special Guest, Guest of Honour, invited personalities, along with other guests inspected different stands, who exhibited their various products, including Muslim Television Ahmadiyya International.
The icing on the cake at the event, was the Nikai of 15 eligible couples, who were joined in holy matrimony after they fulfilled the laid down rules and regulations specified by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jammat of Nigeria, guiding the conduct of solemnization of marriage in Islam.
