Federation of International Football Association ( FIFA ) on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at its Zurich Headquarters in Switzerland Unveiled, Clutch, Zayu, and Maple as the Official Mascots for the 2026 Men’s World Cup, with a bald eagle, a jaguar and moose representing the three co – hosting nations. The United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Each mascot has its own narrative designed by FIFA and is given the trio a playing position on the football field and backstory.
“Maple,” a street style – loving artist, music enthusiast and dedicate Goalkeeper, embodies resilience and creativity.
“Zayu,” an Eagle Striker from jungles, is a symbol of connection and; “Clutch” like all great Midfielders, united people wherever they go, proving that – Flight is about purpose, passion and play.
CLUTCH – the Bald Eagle is dressed in the United States of America’s men’s blue away kit. The bald eagle is recognised for its place at the center of Great Seal since 1782. An act of Congress, signed by President Joe Biden in 2024, made the bald eagle the official national bird.
MAPLE – the Moose represents Canada and is dressed in Country’s red home kit. The mascot also draws inspiration from Canada’s maple leaf, which is the country national symbol.
ZAYU – the Jaguar represents Mexico and is dressed in the nation’s green home strip. Ancient Civilizations of Mexico, such as the Maya bestowed huge significance upon the Jaguar linking it to the underworld and symbolizing strength and bravery.
And CLUTCH, is like all great Midfielders united people wherever they go, proving that true flight is about purpose, passion and play.
In his remarks when he unveiled the mascots, FIFA President, Gianni Infantino said that the Maple, Zayu, and Clutch are full of joy, energy and the spirit of togetherness, just like FIFA World Cup itself: They will win the hearts and spark celebration across North America and beyond.” He described the tournament as bold and boundary – breaking.
The FIFA President disclosed that the three official mascots have been thoughtfully developed to reflect the vibrant culture, and spirit of their respective Countries coming together, to symbolised unity, diversity and the shares passion for the beautiful game.
Infantino stated that “Maple” the Moose from Canada – “Zayu” the Jaguar from Mexico and “Clutch” the Bald Eagle from United States were Introduced as a symbol of unity, and shared passion for football – Each character was designed to reflect the culture of its home country, while inspiring fans around the world, representing the first edition of the tournament to be jointly hosted by three nations.
The FIFA Boss concluded that Maple, Zayu, and Clutch will be everywhere – welcoming the World, inspiring young fans and cheering on the action during the tournament which will take place from 11 June to 19 July 2025, and feature 48 teams for the first time in the history of the World Cup since its Inception in Uruguay in 1930.
