President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has departed Brazil en route Abuja at the end of his three days official visit to Brasilia at the invitation of the Brazilian President.
The visit focused on strengthening diplomatic and economic relations between Nigeria and Brazil.
President Bola Tinubu’s Plane took off Brasilia International Airport Airforce Base at 12: 57 pm ( Local time).
Ambassador Carlos Sergio Sobrai Duarte, Secretary for Africa and Middle East and Ambassador Carlos Jose Areias Moreno Garcete, Ambassador of Brazil to Nigeria were present at the airport to bid farewell to President Tinubu and his entourage.
The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Bianca Odumegwu – Ojukwu and other government officials were also at the airport.
A guard of honour, led by Col. Cel Nicolas, was part of the airport brief departure ceremony.
After President Bola Tinubu arrived in Brasilia on Monday, August 25, 2025 for strategic diplomatic engagement, accorded full military honours at the Palacio do Planalto. And President Tinubu later met with his host President Luis Inacio Lula da Silva and held bilateral bilateral talks on various issues between the two nations.
Both leaders witnessed the signing of Five Memoranda of Understanding which covered the following areas that are beneficial to both countries: Aviation, Foreign Affairs, Science and Technology, and Agriculture.
Part of the aviation agreement will be the Air Peace Direct Flight from Nigeria to Brazil.
