The United States of America ( USA) has successfully defended their crown at the FIBA U 19 Women’s Basketball World Cup 2025 with 88 – 78 victory over Australia in the Final held in Brno, Czech on Sunday, 20th July 2025.
Winning a fourth consecutive edition and an 11th title in total. The victory extended United States of America’s winning streak in the competition to an eye popping 28 games, spread across four separate editions.
Australia finished as runners – up in the competition for the third time in four editions. Spain won the bronze as they squeezed out Canada 70 – 68 in a thrilling Third – Place Game, Okafor proved to be the game – winner with superb 23 point, 11 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals.
Saniyah Hall was named the TISSOT Most Valuable Player of the FIBA U -19 Women’s Basketball Cup after leading USA to an astonishing 11th title.
FIBA Under 19 Women’s Basketball World Cup formerly known as FIBA Under – 19 Championship organised by FIBA was Inaugurated in 1985. Until 2005, it was held every four years. But since 2005 it has been held biennially.
