The Crescent moon, which signifies the beginning of Islamic Month of Dhul Hijjah, during which the annual Hajj Pilgrimage take place, has been sighted.
Crescent Sighting Department of the Saudi Supreme Court confirmed the sighting of the crescent moon on Tuesday evening.
This means that Pilgrimage in which all healthy and wealthy Muslims are required to perform once in a lifetime will commence on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, with million of pilgrims gathering in the Tent City of Mina
The Arafat Day which is the pinnacle of Hajj Pilgrimage will be observed on Thursday, June 5, 2025 by millions of pilgrims already in the Holy land.
Muslims across the World who are not performing the Holy Pilgrimage this year Will celebrate Eid Al – Adha on Friday, 6 June, 2025.
The Crescent Sighting Department of the Saudi Supreme Court took the decision after they held a session Tuesday evening and reviewed the testimonies submitted by witnesses with regards to the sighting of the crescent moon for the commencement of the Month of Dhul Hijjah.
This means that Eid – el – Kabir also known as “ILEYA”will be celebrate throughout Nigeria on Friday, 6 June, 2025.
