It was the turn of residents of Ikorodu West LCDA and it’s environ on Wednesday, when Lagos State Parking Authority (LASPA) took a Road Show to Ikorodu West LCDA and it’s environ to sensitise its residents on Indiscriminate Parking on Roads.
The road show tagged: Says, No Indiscriminate Parking was done in conjunction with officials of Ikorodu West LCDA and the campaign took them across various roads, streets, bus – terminals, and along the way distributed different fliers with inscriptions on the vices.
The road show highlighted various impact of indiscriminate parking on roads, lay – by , set – backs, undesignated parking space leading to delays, waste of precious time, distruption of free flow of traffic, economic loss, important appointments missed and most importantly stress.
The campaign was also use in engaging and informing the residents on the mandate of LASPA which is to bring sanity on the and carry out enforcement where necessary.
LASPA personnel and officials of Ikorodu West LCDA was led by the General Manager of LASPA, Mrs Adebisi Adelabu, who was accompanied by Mr. Deen Sanwoola, the Executive Assistant to the Governor on LASPA said the road show was organised to sensitise and educate the residents of Ikorodu on the essence of parking management and to let be aware that LASPA is working in ensuring that they provide a suitable parking space for people to park in order to avoid parking indiscriminately on our roads, streets and to strictly adhere to the parking policy of the State which says park easy move easy.
The campaign LASPA said is also to educate business owners when they make use of their set – backs for parking LASTMA are authorised by law to send you a demand notice and carry out enforcement as applicable.
“When there is proper parking management traffic flows, and when people parked their vehicles indiscriminately on the roads. It slow down businesses and hindered the economy.”
The LASPA Boss warned Ikorodu residents that LASTMA will soon commence enforcement on Indiscriminate Parking on various roads in compliance with the parking regulations of the state.
