The Honourable Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Lagos State, Mr. Jamiu Tolani Alli – Balogun has officially flagged off a 10 – Day Capacity Development Training for Education Quality Assurance ( OEQA) Evaluators.
The training, themed “Building a High Performing Education Quality Assurance Workforce,” holding at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI ), Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos commenced today, Monday, 17th August, and runs through Wednesday, 26th August, 2026.
In his keynote address, the Honourable Commissioner highlighted the critical role of education quality assurance in sustaining high standards in technology, learning, school management, and learner welfare across Lagos State. He emphasized the for continuous professional development, integrity, and excellence among OEQA evaluators.
He urged participants to take full advantage of training, acquire new knowledge, and translate their learning into practical quality assurance actions that will lead to improved educational outcomes across the state.
In his welcome address, the Director General, Office of Education Quality Assurance (OEQA), Dr. Sulaiman Olagoke Ogunmiyiwa expressed appreciation for the Commissioner presence and his continued support for professional development of OEQA of OEQA personnel.
The Director General noted that the training was carefully designed to strengthen the competence of evaluators and equip them with contemporary knowledge and practical skills required to effectively discharge their responbilities in schools.
He added that the programme reflects the commitment of the Lagos State Government through the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education and OEQA to build a competent, professional, and high – performing education quality assurance workforce.
The 10 – Day capacity building exercise is expected to further position OEQA evaluators to drive excellence, ensure compliance with established standards and promote quality education delivery in both public and private schools across Lagos State.
The Commissioner and the entire Management of OEQA gave the assurance that they are committed to excellence in Education through Effective Quality Assurance.
