The Lagos State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists will on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, hold its Annual Ramadan Lecture at the Lagos State Secretariat Community Central Mosque in Alausa, Ikeja.
The announcement of the Ramadan lecture was made in a statement jointly signed by the Committee’s Chairman, Mr. Jamiu Alonje and the Secretary, Mr. Suleiman Alamutu.
According to the statement, the Central theme for the lecture is: “Faith, Justice, and Human Dignity: A Muslim’s Perspective on Nigeria’s Designation as a Country of Particular Concern.
The statement read in part: “This year’s lecture explores the Intersection of faith, justice and human dignity: A Muslim’s perspective on Nigeria’s Designation as a Country of Particular Concern.
Two distinguished guests speakers invited for the lecture will deliver thought – provoking lectures on pressing national issues.
In the First lecture for the day, Dr. Abdullahi Shuaab, Immediate Past Vice Chairman of the Insurance Sectoral Group of Chartered Institute of Directors, speaks on Nigeria’s Economic of Tribal Land Conflicts: A Call for Actions.
For the Second lecture of the day, TVC’s “YOUR VIEW Co – Anchor, Barrister Nyma Akasha Zibiri, a respected legal practitioner will speak on the topic: “Social Supporting Systems for Nigeria’s Victims of Violence and their dependants, a Necessary call for Action, the statement added.
The statement in conclusion, revealed that the Annual Ramadan Lecture is a flagship programme of the Union, which has become a platform for Intellectual engagement, spiritual reawakening, bringing Journalists, scholars, policymakers and members of the public to deliberate on burning issues that shape Nigeria’s socio – economic and moral landscape.
The NUJ Council urges invited members, stakeholders and the public at large to attend this important spiritual event as part of its commitment in fostering dialogue, and upholding human dignity in society.
