***Reaffirms Commitment to Soldiers’ Welfare
The Nigerian Army has Inaugurated a modern Soldiers’ Club at Doddan Barracks, Lagos, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance the welfare, morale, and cohesion of its Non – Commissioned Officers ( NCOs ).
According to a statement issued by Colonel Appolonia Anete, the Acting Director Army Public Relations, the Chief of Army Staff ( COAS ), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, on Thursday, 11 December 2025, commissioned the state – of – the – art facility at a brief ceremony hosted by 81 Division.
Speaking at the event, the Chief of Army Staff said the Soldiers’ Club represent the Army’s commitment to providing conducive welfare facilities that foster relationship, camaraderie, and team spirit among personnel.
The project was executed by the Commander, 45 Division Engineers, Brigadier General, MO Momoh, under the supervision of the General Officer Commanding ( GOC) 81 Division, Major General Farouk Mijinyawa.
The COAS praised the 81 Division for delivering a structure that aligns with his vision of highly motivated and professional Nigerian Army.
The new facility is designed primarily for Non – Commissioned Officers and is expected to serve as a hub for recreation, informal interaction, and improved bonding within the rank and file.
