Spanish Giant, Real Madrid has appointed their former player, Xabi Alonso as the Club new Manager, succeeding Carlo Ancelotti on a three – year deal.
Alonso who once played for both Liverpool and Spain signed a contract that will run till 30 June, 2028.
Xabi Alonso who won the Champions League in 2014 with Real Madrid Will be Introduced as the new manager at Real Madrid’s training ground on Monday, May 26, 2025 and will be incharge for the Club World Cup with his first game against Saudi – Arabia side Al – Hilal on 18 June.
Alonso who was with Real Madrid between 2009 from Liverpool and left in 2014 made 236 appearances, during that time won six titles including: One La Liga title, two Copa del Rey trophies, One Spanish Cup, One Champions League title, when Madrid won the title a record ten times, One European Super Cup.
Xabi Alonso, 43, led Bayer Leverkusen to their first Bundesliga title secured without losing a game – and also won the German Cup in his first season as a Senior Club Manager during the 2023/ 2024 season campaign. Earlier this month Alonso announced that he would leave Bayer Leverkusen at end of the season.
Xabi Alonso began his Coaching career at Real Madrid’s Youth Academy, managing U 14 A team during the 2018/2019 season, where he won the League and the Champions League.
