President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has postponed his scheduled trip to Johannesburg, South Africa and Luanda, Angola, as he awaits further security briefings on the kidnapped Kebbi Schoolgirls and the attack on Christ Apostolic Church in Eruku, Kwara State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In response to the request by the government of Kwara State, President Tinubu in a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Ononuga, has ordered the deployment of more security men to Eruku and the entire Ekiti Local Government Area of the State, and directed the Police to go after the bandits who attacked the worshippers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
President Tinubu in the statement, was scheduled to leave Abuja today to attend the 20th G20 Summit of leaders in South Africa and thereafter proceed to Luanda, Angola to attend the 7th AU – EU Summit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Disturbed by the security breaches in Kebbi State and Tuesday’s attack by bandits against worshippers at the Christ Apostolic Church Eruku, President Tinubu decided to suspend his departure to the two Summits. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
President Tinubu now awaits report from the Vice President Kashim Shettima, who paid a sympathy visit to Kebbi on his behalf, as well as report from the Police and the Department of State Security ( DSS) regarding the attack in Kwara. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The President reiterates his directive to the Security agencies to do everything possible to rescue the 24 Schoolgirls abducted by the bandits and bring the girls back home, safe. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, Vice President, Kashim Shettima has already departed Abuja for Kebbi State on the directive of President Tinubu to meet with the State government and families of Schoolgirls abducted from Government Secondary School, Maga. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Vice President while in Kebbi will meet with Governor Nasiru Idris, traditional rulers, security chiefs, and parents of the kidnapped students. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
President Tinubu had specifically directed the Vice President to assured the People of Kebbi that the Federal Government will ensure the quick and safe return of the abducted girls. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
